Parks Day - Kananaskis
- 10 am to 3 pm
- Free of charge
- Free barbecue lunch
First celebrated in 1990, Parks Day is a national event held every July at the municipal, provincial and federal levels. It offers visitors the opportunity to participate in unique and fun activities in parks and sites of special interest all over the country. The first Kananaskis Parks Day was held in 1995.
It is an opportunity to better understand the range of services offered by Alberta Parks (e.g Mountain Rescue and Bear management), as well as see and participate in activities by groups like the Alberta Biathlon Club, the Alberta Invasive Plant council, Bow Valley Wildsmart and of course, CPAWS!
In addition, local outdoor adventure companies offer entertainment (helicopters, live fly tying demos, and outdoor games).
There will be a free barbecue lunch for all to enjoy and a prize draw.
