Imagine Parks - City of Calgary Public Consultation
What do you want your city parks to look like in 2040?

The City of Calgary is creating a visionary 30-year plan for a sustainable, efficient, and effective open space system. It will serve as the foundation for future City of Calgary Parks 10-year strategic plans and three-year business plans.
A fundamental step in developing this long-term plan is capturing the input of Calgarians and key stakeholders on what kind of parks and open spaces you want and envision by year 2040.

What CPAWS is saying about Imagine Parks:
- The City of Calgary needs to acknowledge and plan for the important role large urban parks like the Weaselhead and Nose Hill Park play in maintaining biodiversity and connectivity in the larger regional landscape outside of City limits.
- Large, undeveloped urban parks play a significant role in maintaining watershed health, which is critical in ensuring the clean urban water supply that City of Calgary residents rely upon.
- CPAWS is supportive of efforts by the City of Calgary and other organizations in educating the public about the role urban wilderness areas play in maintaining ecological integrity of the larger landscape.
- Big urban parks are critical because they provide people the opportunity to meaningfully connect with nature and experience different ecosystems without leaving the city.
