Explore Parks!

Connecting with nature, to protect nature

Dive into the stories of Alberta’s protected and unprotected wild spaces. Through the exploration of park ecosystems, students will see the complex wildlife society living under their noses. Then, allow CPAWS to reveal the students’ place within that society, by unravelling the complicated relationship between humans and the environment through a real-world case-study. Finally, bring curriculum to life with stories, bio-facts and activities on your own professionally guided outdoor experience.

What teachers & students are saying

  • “It's a great chance for students to go out to the mountains and get hands-on experience with the curriculum material. For many of them, they had never even been to the mountains before so it allowed them to gain a much more personal understanding of the content.”

    - Teacher, East Lake School, Chestermere
  • “All the youths present were engaged and our guide was very knowledgeable about the flora fauna of the surroundings in Fish Creek. It exceeded my expectations as the topics that the guide selected really roused the interest of the students.”

    - Children & Youth Program Coordinator, Calgary Chinese Community Service Association
  • “Thank you for leading our field trip through Votiers flats. Thanks for CPAWS I learned about the trees and seeing different flowers was new for me as a new Canadian it was very nice to experience nature in Fish Creek Park. Thank you again"
