Canada’s federal government has made commitments on the world stage to protect 17 percent of terrestrial areas by 2020. Reaching this goal will be a major milestone in protecting Canada’s threatened natural areas. But there’s so much more to do and we all need to play a part in making these goals a reality.
For years, we have worked hard to create more protected areas in ecologically important regions throughout Southern Alberta. Today, we are asking Canadians across the country to #MakeRoomForNature wherever they live. Meeting our commitments is only possible if we all work together.
